Imane Khelif has swyer syndrome and has Y chromosome, so a match with people who posses XX chromosome wouldn't be a fair fight.

It's not transphobia, and that kind of shrill hysterical hyperbole does nothing to further the discussion here. It also has nothing to do with the LGB community at all, so I don't see how this concerns them or why they need to be dragged into this at all.
At the heart of this problem, you have a biological male fighting with biological females - that's just the raw truth, and the women on the receiving end of the punches know that more clearly than anyone. That's not fair.
If we want to be fair and sensible about inclusion, the only fair solution is to give them their own category or division. But let the girls just compete against other biological girls so everything stays on an even playing field.

The rules in boxing are simple and based on science.
If you carry the Y chromosome, you can not compete against girls.
Human females do not carry the Y chromosome, as defined by science and biology.
Woke has hit a brick wall called reality.
Men hitting women is not a sport and it's not fun to watch.
DatAss
But we're all equal, girl bosses always win, strong whamen don't need no man, and diversity is our strength. And then a man punches you in a face and makes you cry.

As I said in the thread yesterday, this is a nuanced situation, and and the only black and white thing about this situation is that it's absolutely not a black and white situation. Anyone who thinks the answer is absolutely one way or the other is only exposing their lack of intelligence required to see the nuance of the situation.

She was born as a biological woman, just because she has a little more testosterone does not take away from the fact that she is a woman..
Both men and women have hormones of both genders, but homophobic medieval fools can't understand that.
They prefer to vent their hatred against those who are different..
Peter Neil
how are chromosomes nuanced?

Fact Check:
Imane Khelif and Lin Yu-ting are female boxers, but they are facing attacks from anti-LGBTQ+ conservatives online who claim they're transgender

Mr Kipling
This is not correct. The Algerian boxer was identified as a female at birth due to the doctor having a look downstairs. The boxer has spent their entire life as a female. However, from birth her chromosomes were XY making she actually a he. Plus those internal testicles were pumping out testosterone in a very manly manner.
All very complicated but still black or white. Women or other. The Algerian boxer should not be boxing women.
Mr Kipling
Were XX....

When progressives say “nuanced” it’s actually a dogwhistle for our ideology is wrong but we can’t admit it.
The people who are against men punching women aren’t far right, they are right.
JboneInTheZone
This hasn’t been proven by the way. It’s been claimed by one person with 0 evidence to support it
JboneInTheZone
The IOC has no such ‘Y’ chromosome rule

So men can have vaginas now? Interesting to see how conservatives have completely changed their tune

I'm only interested in fair competition. If there are significant differences from the normal "man" or "woman" which provide advantage in winning, then those people need to be in their own class of competition.
Doesn't matter if their genes say man, woman, other, modified, changed, whatever. It is about fairness in the competition so skill and training difference determine the winners, not altered biology or outside-normal biology factors.
For example, shouldn't basketball teams have a total limit for height on the court during play?
Shouldn't American football have a total weight limit on the field during play?
Wouldn't that make for fairer games? It would help countries with shorter people have better chances in the competition, right?
owzer
i’m not saying Imane is a dude, but there are photos where a bulge can be seen.
kohakuebisu
Khelif is intersex. Like Semenya the runner was. She has internal testicles, but also a cervix. You can take your pick of body parts and argue what you want, but it will deny what the other body parts say. It is also grossly unfair to project anything you might think about transexuals onto someone who is not remotely trans.
Thousands of athletes over the years have been freaks of nature to a greater or lesser extent. If the Boxing Association, which knows way more about boxing than me, thinks its okay, I would let her fight.
Almost every Olympic contest is also greatly affected by financial power and environment, so appeals to "fairness" are cute but extremely naive.
Peter Neil
and therin lies the problem.

Hiltz may be a great player but bigger attention seeker.
She was born a female and claimed trans then non-binary but plays on women's teams not men's as most of these non-binary and trans men.
Then they say protect women, when they don't by backing crazy stuff like men dressed as women in women's sports, public toilets changing rooms, even prison.
And any woman that dares stand up to these bullies will be attacked both online and physically and threatened legally if the powers can.
Riley Gaines, JK Rowling, etc... TERF, a table the alphabets came up with along with CIS to make themselves feel better.
The LGBTQA...... Should rename TQA2qmonopr.... because the LGB are leaving and are now as attacked as ever because the rest or the letters are off their rocker.

Many right-wing extremists such as Marjorie-Taylor Green, JK Rowling, Ted Cruz, Riley Gaines and Georgia Meloni have rushed to accuse Imran Khelif of being secretly transgender or having intersex traits.
Their only evidence: Khelif was one of two boxers disqualified from the 2023 International Boxing Association (IBA) championship tournament after she failed an unspecified eligibility test midway through the bracket.
Their only source is IBA President Umar Kremlev who told the Russian news agency Tass it was a DNA test that showed Khelif had XY chromosomes.
The nature and results of the test that these extremists rely on has not been made public.

Don't put these 2 together.
LG shouldn't be with the rest especially L that should be Women.
Women have been under attack for years now.
When Lia Thomas was changing in the women's room fully nude with male genitalia.
It was the girls that were threatened, " get on board any one openly disagreeing is off the team" then the girls were offered therapy if seeing male generals in the changing rooms upset them
If a gay or lesbian like a non gay non lesbian say they would not date a transgender well apparently that make all those not interested in certain genitals and transgender all transphobic.
So now they want to tell all of us who we can date, etc...

Republican vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance called Khelif “a grown man pummeling a woman” and referred to the match as “disgusting.” But the most inflammatory rhetoric came, of course, from Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling and Riley Gaines
JK denounced “our new men’s rights movement” and misgendered Khelif as “a male who’s [sic] knows he’s protected by a misogynist sporting establishment enjoying the distress of a woman he’s just punched in the head.”
Riley Gaines:

TQA.... at its best anyone that disagrees is a "right wing extremist" this includes the LGB Alliance whose founders were previously all called "left wing extremist" back in the 80s and 90s fighting for gay and lesbian rights.
You can't make this stuff up.
Now if you are a woman a lesbian that is fighting for women's rights and the right not to be exposed to male genitals, have medals taken by men dressed as women, jobs for women taken by men calling themselves women, you are now a Right wing extremist!

The argument is they lived like women all their lives but biology says they have XY and the benefits that go with that.
So if I lived all my life thinking I was disabled but I have full use of all my limps, would it make me eligible to participate in the Paralympics against people that actually don't have full use of or all their limbs?
The IBA president clearly stated they had XY chromosomes, and not XYY or XXY.
We have people now claiming they are certain animals, running around in suits and in all 4 legs , do we actually believe they are dogs, cats, etc..?
No one is running around says that this or that animal has been "assigned" gender at birth, no it is a cow and a bull a buck and a doe, if you believe that gender is "assigned" then start doing the same to all mammals because all we are is a more evolved mammal.

Make up your mind!
Either JK Rowling is a right wing extremist or a left wing feminist.
The quote you just posted doesn't sound very "right wing" even less a right wing extremist.
More of a left wing thing.
But you say she is a Right wing extremist.
Which is it?
itsonlyrocknroll
This is a direct result of the venomous political toxicity associated with the world of “wokeism” that touches/torches every fibre, when such poisonous malicious Ideology, the extremist gender identity political “kill switch” infects women Boxing, a contact sport.
Mayhem.
Both these “women” are “blessed/fated” with male levels of testosterone, a Y chromosome, along with physical attributes to match.
Then combine together with an overarching lunacy of an IOC dogmatic policy agenda that believes contends that such craziness is "inclusion" in sport.
I mean listen to the IOC foolishness….
“The current aggression against these two athletes is based entirely on this arbitrary decision (by the IBA), which was taken without any proper procedure,” said Adams of the IOC. “These dangerous, misogynistic and baseless attacks can lead to misinformation.”
Compounded by a bonkers belief that your “gender” is defined by what appears on an athlete's passport.
Any criticism, even questioning what lunacy thought that allowing these “women” to pummel a “biological” female to oblivion inside a boxing ring, to then passing off as a “sport” should be lock up and the key thrown away, it is insane.
First there is the "convicted child rapist" beach volley baller, now "men" assaulting women passed off as entertainment at an Olympics games 2024, what next?

The most ironic thing here is the supporters of these 2 keep pointing out that they lived all their lives as women and funniest of all "were assigned female" at birth making them women.
Then in the same breath these same people will argue Lia Thomas have the right to choose because being "assigned male at birth" doesn't make her/him a man.
Let that sink in for a minute.

Angela Carini has publicly stated that the reason for her retirement was the hard hit.
She never ever has said anything against Imane Khelif and is saddened by the uproar.
She said she respects HER (Angela's word for Imane) and if she could she'd like to give her a big hug.
And why are some still confusing this issue with the transgender issue?
No biological transition has taken place.
Imane was born a woman. She probably suffers from the fairly rare condition - Complete Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome (CAIS). It is the most common XY, DSD diagnosis, which results in an individual having XY chromosomes, but the person is phenotypically female.
She has been raised and spent her whole life as a girl. She calls herself a woman and does not identify as transgender or intersex.
And for the record Imane has been defeated a number of times by XX women - hitting her hard.
And if you think XX women can't hit hard or take a punch - well you just haven't looked.
Imagine MMA Amanda Nunes smacking you in the head. 99.9% of men would be decked.

Sure because she is a professional and 99% of men are not!
But like Serena Williams said on live TV, men's and women's sports are two different things.
And she loves women's tennis but wouldn't last long against the men.
She understands reality!
And this applies to MMA as well as tennis.
The top male MMA would as you put it " smacking her in the head she would hit the deck" so please give it a rest!

I suspect someone will complain about their ten year olds having to go for an exam and blood test to participate in sports. I wouldn't but someone will.

Without a doubt one of the absolute worst and the backlash has been off the charts, I think the IOC learned a Valuable lesson going forward
itsonlyrocknroll
TaiwanIsNotChina, the IOC have a duty of care, for the safety, to/for the welfare for all athletes,
To subject female boxers, a contact sport in to ring to fight a "person" without due diligence to full gender eligibility verification testing, including levels of testosterone is recklessly negligent,
All in the name of a dogmatic gender identity political agenda, masquerading as "inclusion"

antique - thanks for your reply.
I only mentioned MMA fighters like Nune to simply show "Women can hit hard".
You don't have to be a man to hit hard. That's all. Easy.
No ones comparing men and womens sports.
And this excerpt from another forum sums up a lot imo -
"The way these grifters and concern trolls are acting, you’d think Imane Khelif was just Mike Tysoning dainty women left and right.
"She has NINE losses. She was in the last Olympics and didn’t win anything! Only 11 percent of her victories are knock outs! Shes from a country where you’re not even allowed to transition if you wanted to.
"To the hateful and ignorant this doesn’t matter and they don’t know that because they found out who this was recently, and Khelif is just someone to be used in the culture war."
Says it all really.

That "inclusion" doesn't include the Rights of women and girls.
The "inclusion" violating the privacy, the right of actual females to not be beaten by men in sports, to not be forced to see and confronted by male genitals, the right of parents not to have their 14 year old daughters in the women's changing room be confronted by an 18 year old man fully naked (which if done anywhere else would be a sex crime) is all irrelevant.
It is far more important to make this minority with delusions and agenda happy than make the actual female population comfortable.
The women's movement faught for centuries to get equality and safe spaces and now the powers of the alphabet community is invading this space and any girl or woman that is uncomfortable to be in the same changing room as a biological man is told to get therapy.
Seriously this is what was told to the girls swimming team about their being uncomfortable with Lia Thomas fully nude and what 14 year old girls with told in their high school about an 18 year old biologically male senior nake with 14, 15, 16 17 year old girls.
The rights and delusion of 1% over that of 99%
