Good call WTA. A little late but the right thing to do. IOC are you watching? Time to ban the Genocide Olympics.

The Womens Tennis Association - so far, the only world sports body to put aside dirty Chinese money for ethics. Good on them.

China and HK do not deserve ANY international sports events.

Boycott the Genocide Games 2022.

The IOC is about as trustworthy as the CCP. I'd play neither of them at poker.

China is not a politically mature country and culturally based soft power is a very mature type of force. It’s only going to get harder for the Chinese government if they refuse to grow up and not care what is said about individuals internally and externally.

WTA made the call then backed it up with action. Nicely done.

It's becoming serious now.

The WTA stands to lose a lot of money by doing this - they're actually putting their wallet where their mouth is

The WTA has more balls than the IOC. The WTA cannot survive if they cannot protect their women because all their players are women - their players would revolt

Full credit to Steve Simon and the WTA for not backing down. China needs to learn how to be a responsible member of the international community. Wonder what will happen when Olympic athletes at Beijing hold up banners or make gestures on the field or the podium. Is China really willing to lock everyone up?

Tokyo, the NBA do play games in China duh

The WTA are the first ones to decide that the water is too warm for their comfort, recognizing it's only going to get hotter.

Hats off to the WTA. Unlike the Olympics comittee they have a spine and stand up to the CCP. That scripted TV conference with Bach and the CCP hostage was pure cringe. No tennis in China until Peng is free to travel and talk!

Yrral

Tokyo, the NBA do play games in China duh

The NBA has totally caved to CCP money. No respect for them.

Good on the WTA. The IOC & NBA have sold their souls for money. The NBA has essentially “encouraged” its players and staff to remain mum (violating their 1st Amendment protections) on all things China in order not to put huge licensing deals at risk.

boycott the dictator games.
