I taught one of my classes some new (to them) English slang...Germany "kicked their butts"

This was like watching a world renowned professional team squaring off against a no name amateur high school soccer team.

Wow. I expected Brazil to lose because they were missing a couple of key players, but 7-1? Even Tim Howard couldn't save Brazil!

I watched the match.... the Brazilians saw their worst nightmare happen before their conscious eyes.

And this is the same German team that struggled to beat US and even drew with Ghana

And that reflects that what has been said about Brazil, reporters and journalist from South America say that the Brazilian Team this year is the worst team from Brazil in a World Cup, from the beginning Brazil was not showing good play, like their ancestors, only one star (Neymar) doesn't make a team and we see how Germany crushed them, it is so humiliating for Chile, because Brazil was mostly lucky in this tournament and sometimes they were favorited by referees.

Oh well, Although I like Germany, my hopes are for Argentina, although I don't want a duel between Argentina and Brazil.

Even when Germany let up in the second half and only played half as hard they still scored! Brazil was a joke

Germany was also playing tighter than in other games given the pressure and its passing play destroyed what little defence existed. It was over in 18 minutes.

Hoping for a Germany Netherlands final but we'll see what Argentina says about that.

Daniel NeagariJUL. 09, 2014 - 05:28PM JST Deutschland, Deutschland, über alles!!!

For those who want to put a but in everything... I know it is not the National Anthem of Germany... but it expresses exactly what I want to say.

I understand what you want to say, only that part of the song was used by the Nazis, so it has a very bad taste and we don't use it in Germany anymore (except for the right-wing extremists, probably).

Good, this will now shut up all the Japanese pundits about Brazil and Neymar. I can only hope that Messi and the Argentine team crash out versus the Dutch, and life will be great. Never before have I seen a country that cheers so much for another country, like Japan does for Brazil, or for that matter Argentina.

Oh no, a bunch of millionaires lost one in an endless series of meaningless games. Large deal.

The football manager is responsible for everything, whether it is psyche, training fitness, quick recover of a player, accuracy of a striker, team attitude He can be likened to a puppet master and the players are puppets. The puppet master controls the puppets by instructing and directing them. If the puppet puts up a good performance, the puppet master is soaked in glory and the spectators and crowd are thrilled. As painful as it was to watch and to say now, the simple fact is that the better team won.

That was just a big ol' can of whoop-ass.

What a wipe-out! I almost felt sorry for the Brazilians. They totally lost their mojo and for a while looked like a 3rd rate football club.

Sorry losers (Brazil).. talked the talk but couldn't walk the walk. Then bitched about it.

Deserved it Brazil! German banzai!

Neymar would not have made an iota of difference given the shambolic defending that was on display from Brazil. Thiago Silva was the only thing holding that defense together.

To be honest, even if both Neymar and T. Silva had played, at best Brazil would have only lost 4 - 0 or something. Germany were a class above them.

“Neymar must be vomiting at home watching this disaster. The horror,”

He's probably very happy he wasn't apart of it. This way he stays the golden boy.

It is indeed the President's fault. Her defending was just awful.

Well - it was a shock for them ,for sure .....................but given the opponent, I think the odds were against them. . . . However they can come back in 3rd [alce
