We're going to have a week of this hype now....

Nishino-san is a breath of fresh air for Samurai Blue. He will be Coach for many years now, and National hero.He proved that Japan can now match and beat the best in the World. No team now scares Samurai Blue.

Aim for the Semi-Final, and take it from there! Nothing is Impossible now!

I'm glad. I hope for more success.

Best of luck Nishino-san and squad!

Well done. So the hard work by  ̶V̶a̶h̶i̶d̶ ̶H̶a̶l̶i̶l̶h̶o̶d̶ž̶i̶ć̶ Nishino Akira paid off.

Well done. But I'm glad I don't have a TV anymore.

@ Pukey2

Under Halil, Samurai Blue would have been too defensive. And lost 4-0. Nishino-san tactics are “attack at all times”, “total football” and we saw it last night for full 90 minutes.

Really? Where was that match? I must have missed it.

Because Japan played against 10 players for 90 mins, of course they would be attacking more, it wasn't total football, it was an advantage. If they can do the same against Senegal and Poland against 11 players then I'll commend the team.

Nice to see the Japanese people and players throw Halil under the bus, even though he helped coach Japan to qualify for the event.

Pukey2 - So envious! It's how the missus winds down after the impossible demands made on her at work so I have to put up with it.

I know that Japan isn't the only team making history in FIFA WC, there are some others who are getting advance in the groups, like as Senegal, Iceland, Switzerland, Mexico, etc... I only don't agree Japan is strong enough for the other 2, Senegal and Poland to play 11x11. Early the days to celebrate on streets or do parties under roofs. This next match vs. Senegal will be much festive if Japan wins, I'm sure.

Hope Senegal brings these people crashing back to earth. Barely beating a team that played with 10 men for 87 minutes is NOT historic. The overhype on every team or athlete this country sends to international competitions is super annoying!!
