Now that's what I call football.

Diego Maradona will have to take his antics back home.

Bon voyage, Messi! The French media greetings.

That damn hand of God once again!

Great match and some cracking goals but the French should have put the game to bed earlier. Argentina could easily have had a player (mercado) or 2 (mascherano, rojo?) sent off. Butchers & cheats.

Argies & Portugal out of the wc, good riddance.

This match shows why football is called the beautiful game.

The best WC match so far, that's what you call a soccer match.

The referee should be investigated for corruption as it was clear he was favoring France from the start. Reminded me of the corrupt Ecuadorian ref who gifted Korea a victory against the Italians a few years back.

That was quite a game.

Mbappe is pretty quick

woohoo both of the 'goats' are out in quick succession.

Mbappe has already emerged as a world class striker before the World Cup. Yet, the Real Madrid ex-coach Zidane did not consider to replace the out-of-form Karim Benzema with Mbappe.

Stunning match. High quality football is what we saw. Now, that Mbappe guy, he's a Bolt with a ball on his feet, what an extraordinary player. Now, I am rooting for Japan. It will be THE event of this World Cup if Japan beats Belgium.

This match shows why football is called the beautiful game.

"Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good soccer. I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’ And when good soccer happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it."

Two wonderful games that made you feel good to be alive and grateful to the players and supporters that created an experience so transcendent.

Definitely, but the Red Devils, one of the 3 'serious' candidates for the title, will make sashimi of the Blue Samurai :)

With Griezmann: 'Viva La France, Viva La République !'

I get that Mpabbe is the big story of this game, but Pavard's goal deserves more attention. Perfectly spun off the side of his foot and off of a volley no less. Absolutely world-class shot.

Total fluke....he totally mis-hit it and it lucked its way in. His surprised reaction was priceless.

Great match. Mbappe is only 19.

I'm glad Argentina have been knocked out, as now we no longer have to endure the endless, tedious TV shots of him hamming it up everytime Argentina got near the ball.

It was anything but corrupt! Sore loser.

Typical Argentinean nonsense talk. I have never seen an Argentinean fans/team lose gracefully or professionally. There is always some issues an nothing to do with a team that isn't as good as it thinks it is. The only thing that lucked its way in was Argentina into the last 16. Sayonara
