Was surprised by the number of argie fans in the stands, thought the country was going through another economic crisis!? (argies sure love their NT though, in any sport).
Messi's now missed 4 of his last 7 penalties! How many more before a coach (at barca or NT) finally does his job and tells him 'sorry mate, aguero/dimaria will take the next one'. Well done iceland!

Iceland a really tough, disciplined and spirited side and their keeper had a stormer. They are in with a decent shot of getting to the knockout stage.

Thus far, it’s looking very much like Spain’s year. They were really very good against Portugal, and would have seen off Argentina, no problem....

It is interesting to find out whether Messi wanted to kick that penalty or he was simply chosen by his coach. Whatever the case, I still believe that it was Jorge Sampaoli who should get the blame. As a coach, Sampaoli should be aware that Messi might have already been traumatised with his failures in the past. If Sampaoli would like to win the world cup for Argentina, choose someone else to kick the penalty from now on.

Compare the focused facial expression of Ronaldo before taking that free kick with the one of Messi. You almost could predict that he would miss the penalty.
