the Brazil team has no spirit, lacks experience and has a good excuse. Why bother?

Oh dear.

Now on to the main course.

So it is almost over. Germany will win.

Thank god I did NOT see this, I already feel so bad for Brazil and the last team in the world I want to see (after the dirty tricky stunts they pulled against Mexico) is Holland!! Poor, poor Brazil and now the Argentinians are parading around the streets of RIO de Janeiro singing (Decime como se siente tener a tu papa) How does it feel to have your daddy in your OWN country winning more games and possibly going back to Argentina with the WORLD CUP??

Oh, there is one more thing I will say:

To the good people who were posting on JT that the World Cup is rigged, and Brazil are already the pre-determined champions and that Brazil will be awarded the title by corrupt refereeing et al.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

A pretty lousy end for Brazil in terms of record breakers, but fourth is really not much to be ashamed of. Holland has a LOT of reasons to be proud, and they are getting stronger each time around. Brazil missed a lot of good chances, likely due to the pressure they had on them to win, especially after the Dutch scored in the opening of the game.

But that's the game. Congrats to both for getting that far. I'm cheering for Germany for the win.

we have to thank the brazilian team for all the laughs

Except that they were second last time. In fact, they've been runners-up a record 3 times.

No one can deny that this edition of the World Cup was dramatic and full of ups and downs.

This defeat to Germany shook Brazilians so hard it's going to affect the next Presidential election in October. President Rousseff was counting on a victory to boost her campaign, riding along the feel good factor. Watch the final tomorrow, very probably you'll witness Brazilians fans chanting very dirty words to Rousseff, if she dares going to Maracana.

David Luiz - comedy hair and comedy defending. How any manager can put him at centre-half is beyond me. Jose Mourinho must have watched that game with a smirk knowing he's flogged him for a ridiculous amount of cash.

When Oscar went down in the box following a Blind challenge midway through the second period,

It is fall inside the box. Referee should check his eyes sight for innocent fall and prepared fall with exaggeration. Oscar is not cheater and actor. He was pure and clean as Snow White. Robben should be rewarded with Oscar award for his acting skills.

I wish Robben will compete as Diver in the coming Olympic in Brazil. He will be the legend as expert of diver and striker.

When Oscar went down in the box following a Blind challenge midway through the second period, the official booked the little midfielder for diving rather than point to the spot

It was a foul inside the box. According the law of soccer, Penalty should be rewarded to Brazil as well. It will not change the outcome of game. However it is fair and sound judgment. Most referees are not good enough for their job in 2014 WC.

Japan should send the Robot Referee which can not be biased. If Surgeon can use Robot for surgery, future WC should use Robot Referee too.

Robben is a disgrace, I agree. It's one of the things that differentiates him from a guy like Messi in my opinion, who stays on his feet as much as he can. Robben is the very best, and very worst of soccer really, and for that reason will not be in the Pantheon of Greats.

Brazil deserved degradation and humiliation!

The reason why he falls is because of his speed and build, skinny fast people fall easier when tackled. You can't compare Messi and Robben...Messi sits on his lazy butt waiting for the ball to be served on a silver platter, while Robben falls back, plays midfield and forward...the man works! Shut off Messi and he just becomes an appendix, shut off Robben in the front, then he just works harder in the middle and the back.

Yes, anything our Dutchduck says! ROBBEN is fast and good but his DIVING during the match against MEXICO???? PLEASE oh please, he should get the GOLDEN GLOBE or some academy award for his great ACTING, oh, I slipped, those mean, mean Mexicans pushed me down, sure, sure you poor Dutch guy, so let me help you and give those bad, mean Mexicans a few YELLOW CARDS and why not a PENALTY KICK to make sure they do not get to close to Robben, Messi NEVER pulls this kind of BS!! Is he boring, well I do have to agree, I thought the Argentina VS Holland match was one of the most boring I saw in all of the WC, who is happy winning by the skin of their teeth with penalty kicks??

This should be a warning for all nations hosting these giant spending spree parties that mainly benefit construction companies, nationalist politicians and global corporations and leave a legacy of debt. Unlike most Japanese, who appear to support holding the Olympics, the majority of Brazil's public were against hosting the event. Winning the WC might have eased some of the financial pain, but now they can add the misery of a hollow defeat to an increased tax burden from this and the bill for the 2016 Olympics, for years to come.

Dear elbuda, I feel for you, I know it's frustrating to see your team lose in a way which is just not right. I agree with you on many points and I feel"the schwalbe" should be outlawed. I don't agree that the pk Robben got was unjustified...what he did was "drawing a fault", something which happens quiet regular in basketball. To single him out for something that has been common practice for years is just not fair and reeks of "sore losers" syndrome. Mexico went much further then anyone expected keeping their abysmal qualification in mind, you should be proud...putting your team in a defensive position against a great forward is asking for problems if your defenders aren't experienced enough. You guys can have your revenge four years later until that time stop trying to put down the great achievements of the Dutch team.

Whoever said Presiden Dilma Rousseff could lose the next Brazilian election due this fall due to Brazil's horrid performances in the last two World Cup games is right. The losses hurt the psyche of the Brazilian people so hard they're going to take it out on somebody--with Rousseff being (unfortunately) the first victim politically. It will be very interesting to see if the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) will be under tremendous pressure to sack Luiz Felipe Scolari, too.

Players like Robben constantly have to endure their legs being kicked and hacked at. Don't forget that Mexico's Hector Moreno, trying to tackle Robben, broke his own leg in the process.

Dutchduck

The reason why he falls is because of his speed and build, skinny fast people fall easier when tackled.

Nope. The reason he falls is because as soon as someone gets within his general vicinity he dives as theatrically as he can, contact or not (often not). He is a chronic, serial diver. He even admits it, though it would be a pretty hard thing for him to deny with a straight face.
