Good call Zac -- Masahiko Inoha, what a fine player for Kashima Antlers. Quick, intelligent and a good passer of the ball, he'd be perfect alongside Tulio in the centre of defence.

I remember that not so long ago a poster on this board said that the Japanese team lack players that play in strong competitions abroad. Well, 35% of the squad consists of players who play in Russia, England, Germany, Italy or Belgium (only Belgium is ranked lower than Japan, but hey). At least half of the starting lineup will consist of "foreigners" on October 8.

A pretty strong squad this one. Sekiguchi is an interesting selection - maybe sending a message out to Kisho Yano that it is time to front up.

What is good is that there is plenty of attacking intent there, hopefully Honda & Kagawa are fit and can play behind either Okazaki or Morimoto. Kagawa is in sparkling form right now, him and Honda are the creative future of the Japan side.

Good selection, let's see who actually starts and gets a chance to play. I thought Zac said his next press conference would be in Japanese. Well, he did say KONICHIWA I guess...
