It's hardly a ChatGPT rival if all it does is spout CCP propaganda and Xi Jingping Thought, is it? Even Chinese users aren't fooled.
Totally laughable.

They target audience is probably CCP officials. Now they don't even need to think of a reply to these tough questions. Good old Ernie's got the answer!

None of this should come as a surprise to anyone.

Well, this is Chinese AI, and there's nothing artificial about it. It's made by Xi Jinping alone. Garbage in, garbage out.

No, this isn't Chinese AI. It is OpenAI - an open source project - taken by Chinese computers scientists and claimed as their own. The CCP mandated (or the Chinese Scientists "knew" that political filters would be required), so it has some.
Nothing to see here. China claiming something as theirs that isn't again. SoS, different day, that's all.
Q? Ernie, what's the approved method to remove President Xi from office?
Ok, so I didn't ask Ernie. I asked a non-Chinese AI instead.

Lol, what use is an AI that doesn't strive for accuracy
While everyone else in the world is complaining about the accuracy of AIs, China's AI doesn't even strive to become better at accuracy. Who would bother with inaccurate AI? Lol

Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, Russia, Myanmar, Lil' Kim ... those people will all sign up for Chinese AI, I'm sure.

"Artificial Intelligence" sounds like a certificate proud CCP cadres received following one of their "re-education" campaigns, lol.
And forget about the answers one receives...why is no on talking about the fact that, with these "AI chats" fully connected to the Chinese Communist Internet, every question you ASK is noted and filed for future reference by the CCP. Ask too many "wrong" questions, and you might be "invited by the security services to tea at the station", as the Chinese refer to it.
True, free-thinking intelligence in the "people's republic" (lol) is Double Plus UnGood, Comrades!

Corrupt countries with state-controlled media have low press freedoms, and therefore the information being reported is only nominally based on real-world events, then filtered through the agenda of the rulers. This is why media from countries with low press freedoms is extremely unreliable, as it cannot be trusted to be reporting accurately. Rather it is reporting in a manner meant to further the agenda of the rulers.
This is why only people of low intelligence believe what the media in China and Russia report at face value. Both of these countries have very low press freedoms, and therefore any reporting by the media in these countries cannot be taken at face value by anyone of intelligence.
The sad thing is, the people inside these countries often don't have other options. This is why people in Moscow are confused about why Moscow is currently being bombed. No one has told them that their country has invaded it's neighbor and is executing its citizens in the streets.

ERNIE is a commie...
Ask it if Xi resembles a certain animated stuffed bear....and watch it have an electronic breakdown....
isabelle
Actually, people already tried that months ago. The result? A ban.

ERNIE is the Electronic Random Number Indicator Equipment that everyone in the UK prays to in the hope it will pick their numbers in the Premium Bond draw. ERNIE is god.
First Sesame Street, and now China taking the Lord's name in vain.
Mocheake
So basically ERNIE isn't a tool for chatting or learning, it's just a tool.

Not that funny. They don't want you to question anything or ask why, just digest all the CCP propaganda crap they spoon feed you. And once again, this shows that AI isn't truly something to be scared about. It'll never surpass man's IQs. It's all about what it is programmed to be, zeroes and ones.
Sven Asai
In fact all those AI chatbots react somewhat similar when the smallest difficulties appear. The Chinese one wants to change the unwanted Tiananmen topics, and when I asked Bing a specific question about a technical or software problem about a product of the same company I got several wrong answers and then it canceled 'conversation' something like I should try again later with another topic.

I still do not understand - what conclusion should be drawn? That China has censorship? - Everyone knows it. The fact that the censorship of artificial intelligence in China is different from similar censorship in the United States, in Russia or in Israel? Well, this is also logical - understandable. Each country has its own taboos and its own censorship.
