25 countries to get iPad a week after U.S. launch

What about Africa and South America?...and the middle East. Surely Israel will want these.

In some countries, new gadgets and software need to be cleared by the government before imports can start coming in.

Several years ago, I was setting up servers for a client in Algeria. We had pre-ordered hardware and software from vendors. Several of the software we ordered got held by the customs because the new version isn't in their list of items cleared for import. We had to wait for 10 working days before I got the software I needed for my work.

It's weird calling it the "NEW IPAD". Why didn't apple name it IPAD3 or something.

iMacs and Macbooks have model numbers, like computers.

More stuff to take your money and make you feel connected to the world! Is it that imperative that we become that connected? Is it an addiction that you cannot put down for even a moment? What is the point of this? Who cares about a "new" product that is the same thing as the old one?

Every product has model numbers but you don`t see iMac1, iMac2, iMac3....

True, but there isn't so much tablet PCs in the world yet (excluding China with their ipeds and ipods), so I thought they could've come up with a new name. The name going back to the original is not a very good idea since it doesn't stand out. They seem to lack the magic from the originals. (Although I don't own one...)
