Shouldn't we be more concerned with China?

I'm waiting for the Trump-ists to start one for him.

What's this nashi you speak of?

You mean like constantly referring to "Nashi"?

If 'constantly referring to NASHI' means people have become aware of what Nashi is and what they do, then I've succeeded in drawing attention to what I think is a dangerous organization.

Why do you mention "rightists and Russians" and not "leftists and Canadians"?

I have disdain for rightists and Putin-bots, but not for leftists and especially not for Canadians.

There are no paid Nashi/Kremlin trolls involved on this site. Will that do for a source?

No. Unless you or someone else can provide info showing there are no Nashi/Kremlin trolls on this site or operating on the Internet, then we'll have to agree to disagree. I think there are.

I'm not saying the US are good guys, but why would anyone other than a Russian or someone paid by Russia say anything good about Putin? If someone could provide examples showing what Russia's done to benefit the world lately I'm willing to listen. Thanks for being civil.

In reading posts on this site and others I've noticed recurring themes from posters

Sorry, but it's easy to find your arguments as biased as any other. Why do you mention "rightists and Russians" and not "leftists and Canadians"? In the article you link to, I don't find any information about how the researcher "created this list of Russian trolls". When I read Scottish online news, I'm convinced there's a whole army of anti-independence fanatics writing all day long to try and slur independence supporting politicians. But I doubt they are paid as the quality of writing is so poor as to be counter-productive (perhaps it's the other side doing it.). On this site, those who tend to voice support for Trump and/or Russia get their posts heavily down-voted. It might make the cynic think there's an army of people getting paid to down-vote.

If you can find sources claiming there are no paid Nashi/Kremlin trolls involved on this site or others, please provide them.

And now I guess I've made your case for you. :-)

@yuba I agree with the acceptance needed, BUT, why assume they are government paid officials?

I provided a link above.

You should take your own advice,

I do; I read a range of sources and always have. In doing so it's pretty easy to recognize patterns. In reading posts on this site and others I've noticed recurring themes from posters and have come to believe that given their pro-Russian, anti-west bias they come from Russians or from people paid by Russia. The only people I've heard say anything positive about Russia are Russians themselves.

All social media sites and all online forums need to accept rather than deflect the criticism and find ways to censor messages from trolls paid by any government

Individual readers should have the wherewithal to differentiate fake news from biased reporting from fact based and objective (whatever that means) reporting.

But your true colors show here;

However, it's a reality is that many people readily accept anything that confirms their biases and will quickly believe anything that reinforces their beliefs

Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg has sought to deflect criticism that the huge social network may have been used to fuel the spread of misinformation that affected the 2016 US presidential race.

All social media sites and all online forums need to accept rather than deflect the criticism and find ways to censor messages from trolls paid by any government to spread its propaganda. Individual readers should have the wherewithal to differentiate fake news from biased reporting from fact based and objective (whatever that means) reporting. However, it's a reality is that many people readily accept anything that confirms their biases and will quickly believe anything that reinforces their beliefs. Memes are powerful; rightists and Russians are well aware of that and use them as part of their disinformation campaigns to manipulate their followers.
