please make an updated version of the iPod... we do not need more watches that nobody buys..

If no one buys them, then why would Apple keep making them?

Good point. It is because many people actually do buy them. They ship around 20 million Apple Watches a year.

How about combining the telecommunications of smartphones with the size of tablets? Just one device to rule them all...

I do most of my surfing on my phone now, but it would be nicer to see without having to rotate it.

I think the key is China. Even though there are countless of good local brands, Apple product is still sought after by many.

I'm not that keen on the new phones... but the watch is definitely improving.

Quick! Go trade-in your old iPhone X for the new Xs...

i checked the Japanese apple site. there is no more iphoneX? i want to see its price if it gets cheaper. meantime i am still using my iphone6 :)

This year's three top phones are all more expensive than last year's models.

With two of them starting at $999 or higher in the United States, Apple appears to be taking advantage of a strong U.S. economy, low unemployment, and rising household wealth.

More likely is that Apple's market share is not increasing, so that the way to increase income is to get more money from the same people.

The reporting I've seen of the heart rate features includes a lot of "might", "could", and "has the potential" when talking about medical applications. Most people who measure heart rate during sports still use chest straps (see any triathlon or cycling race on tv) because optical measurement at the wrist is not as accurate. A Bluetooth chest strap (2000 yen) and an app will turn any smartphone into a more accurate heart rate monitor that this watch or a Fitbit.

A 6.5" screen??? That's not a phone, it's a small tablet that can be used to make phone calls. No thank you.

The XS Max, the largest iPhone to date and one of the biggest on the market, has a 6.5-inch (16.5-cm) screen, and starts at $1,099.

Awesome!! That's what I want!!

To each his own brother. But I can totally understand your sentiment as there are alot of people who prefer smaller screens.

For me personally, the bigger the screen, the better.

I still think Apple will reveal probably early in 2019 the successor to the iPhone SE. The iPhone XR is a hint of what the iPhone SE successor will be like, but in a size not much bigger than the iPhone SE. I expect the iPhone SE successor to be primarily aimed at the Indian and Chinese markets.

Oh just one more thing- I have the 7 plus. I just checked the dimensions on wikipedia, and the actual dimensions of the largest phone XSMAX are actually smaller than the 6,7,8 PLUS. Its thicker, but slightly shorter and narrower. Looks like Apple finally started economizing on screen display

"...starts at $999...."

Stopped reading right there.

"Apple appears to be taking advantage of a strong U.S. economy, low unemployment, and rising household wealth."

Thanks, Obama! But now that Trump's screwing things up, like making Apple phones more expensive with the tariffs, ( well, hey, China is the best place to make stuff, right? ) Apple could be in for a rough ride until the Democrats take over the government again.

GARBAGE, DO NOT BUY

Same snakes oil salesmen tricks of selling shiny plastic CRAP, buy alernative phones and smart watches, wake up!

Android has had "phablets" for years now. Apple is trying to catch up.

That's generally true, however, the Apple Watch heartbeat monitor is very accurate. And a chest strap is too inconvenient for all day use.

Try to keep up. Apple have been selling phablets for years.

No it hasn't.

What about the iPhone 6 plus? Around the same size as the iPhone Xs Max and has been selling since 2014.

Samsung was the first to introduce a 'phablet'. In this silly discussion one thing must be clear : the first smartphone was an....

Typical Apple paid article, no mention of the iPhones which were terminated, and wireless charging also seems to be gone.

XS -- excess. Watch, that's what people gonna call it. Apple shoulda see it coming

Another Apple iPhone that looks like the Galaxy S8+, yet still not as good!

Apple is continuing the trend of less for more and blatantly ripping off it's most loyal customers.., no headphone jack, no fingerprint sensor, a huge notch, no dongle (!?), no fast charger included. Why can't the world richest company not include a 9 dollar dongle and a 29 dollar charger?

Sure Bluetooth headphones work fine, but have their limitations, I don't want to be handicapped on a 1000 dollar costing device.

In the meantime the press is going gaga over the new emojis, the face scanner (how did we ever live without it..a fingerprint scanner does the same job without increasing the size of the notch and the price). The increased speed (Facebook opens a nano second faster).

The greed of this company is just painful and still people will bite the bullet and gobble them up ...

Since switching to Bluetooth headphones, I've never once wanted to use wired headphones, or had the need. A headphone jack would be entirely useless for me.

Bluetooth headphones have a far shorter life span than regular wired headphones, and not all cars are equipped with audio blue tooth.

Considering one is battery powered, and one is not, that definitely makes sense.

That said, when my bluetooth headphones die, I can charge them for five minutes, and get another 1.5 hours.

not all cars are equipped with audio blue tooth.

These days? Very few. It's an edge case. No need to burden everyone else with a useless headphone jack for that. If they really need to plug in, they can still do it with the lightning jack adapter.

Apple has frustrated me with stuff over the years, but the removal of the headphone jack has never affected me once.

Can't wait to buy it!

The XR definitely will be a hit. Time to upgrade from my iPhone 7. Two things: when Samsung launches a new model, Samsung users don’t even bother to comment. But they do comment on Apple, angrily. I call it “inferiority syndrome”. Two: according to some posters here, Apple should never upgrade design and software. I call it “the obsolete syndrome”

what I really like about the iphone is they last about 5 years. i used my iphone5 for 5 years without a problem. now im using the iphone6 for a year already. for my style, I just look for a brandnew iphone that is about 3 years old since released and used it for 5 years. i see no problem at all and i always get it for a very cheap price.

Think I will stick with my 6 until Apple releases the XYZssPlus version, should be much longer :-/
