The same thing can be said of FIAT currencies. They only exist on their own fragile frameworks.

Virtual currencies have no foundation -- only their own fragile frameworks. When the bill comes due, there is nothing to back it up, and the entire convoluted and tenuous apparatus will tumble like a house of cards.
