Not strictly speaking, but if it weren't for govt (METI) intervention and big govt investments, Japan Display would have never existed in the first place.

An ¥8 billion loss I'd start to doubt the viability of the business, needing a ¥80 billion bail out my doubts are no longer. It's a business that's well and truely tanked, now just a conduit into other avenues of business for astute investors.
