This is both good and bad.

Think I'd prefer a law/rule that was reciprocal in nature. If your country blocks Japanese ownsership, then Japan should block that specific country to at least the same level.

It doesn't have to be all or nothing. Impact the countries not playing fair. That's what I'd want. But definitely do something.

It is scam! They will start applying this rule to save Japanese companies from being taken over like Nissan and Renault. So they won't nationalistic to the rest of the world especially with UN.

National Security is like a joker it can be used as an excuse to protect any industry or product even bolts and screws.

China is said to steal tech from the west which is not entirely true. There are many foreigners working for Huawei that were head hunted from US, European and Japanese the companies with bigger pay. That is why companies like Huawei have been able to make rapid progress in technology.

Unfortunately, the west is no more that great in anything. Americans are working in Huawei, Canadians are working in Huawei, many nationalities are working in Huawei, the problems here are simple. 1). when one is incapable, one blames the one that is capable. 2). The big coward here is America, who do not have the capabilities to pay but wants to take claims. 3). a country attacking a business ???.no educated people in their correct mind will take this stand. Only unwise, greedy and weak people will believe America. Pls beware, this can happen to u one day, when yr business get big enough and better than trump. oh, yes, jealousy plays a main part too. Good luck to all good businessmen.

China is said to steal tech from the west which is not entirely true.

China uses technology companies strategically and systematically to illegally obtain foreign commercial technology and use it to develop its own military.

About these limitations

It is not desirable as the soundness of the market. However, it can not be denied from the viewpoint of national security.

‘Hidden backdoors’ were found in Huawei equipment, reports Bloomberg

Bloomberg isn't exactly a reputable source for any technology news. Turns out the "back door" was just telnet. That is hardly a back door, but no devices of any sort should be using telnet since the early 2000s.

It was just telnet and bad code publicly "found"

Oh dear. Secret Huawei enterprise router snoop 'backdoor' was Telnet service, sighs Vodafone

Bloomberg cried wolf a few times about technology issues the last 12 months and every time, it wasn't true.
