Congratulations to everyone involved. Hoping for a successful mission all around! Way to go! Space is hard. Making it look easy is a real joy to see.

Nothing new to the Arab world , they have been at the cutting edge of tech. for over 700 years. all the numbers we currently use are Arabic Numbers, Algebra, Math, Physics, and Calculus were used in their daily lives. Congratulations to a civilization that was almost lost.

Good to see the successful launch, and looking forward to see what the probe reveals.

The UAE has set a goal to build a human colony on Mars by 2117.

This a fine goal except for two points. One, many conspiracy theorists predict earth lasting between 20-80 years, and Two, the UAE only has enough resource reserves to last around 20yrs so to finance such a project 100yrs from now...how can they get money for the remaining 80yr of the project?

If they make it a cooperative effort instead of a race they could do far more, go a lot farther, accomplish things faster/earlier, using a lot less resources.

Pretty sweet! Especially when you can buy all the West’s technology rather than invent it yourself.

How about spending some of that oil money on a fair election?

Not calculus. The Calculus was developed in the 17th Century by two mathematicians independently of each other, Isaac Newton and Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz. Their theories of what was once called "Infinitesimal Calculus" differ in many ways and someone first taught Newtonian Calculus will struggle for a while if lets say your professor insists on using Leibniz one forms, etc.

Here is a list of Arab inventions, for some who don't understand history.

And as an amateur astronomer I know that nearly all stars visible to the naked eye (that's about 6000 stars) were cataloged and given Arabian names. For instance, the bright orangey-red star Aldebaran got its name meaning 'the red eye of the bull' (constellation Taurus the Bull, that is). And they calculated the movements of the planets, leading the way for the Polish astronomer Nicolo Copernicus to come up with his discovery and postulation that Earth and the other planets revolve around the Sun.

The medieval Arabs contributed greatly to astronomy, metallurgy, medicine and more. And they gave us 'khaffee' = coffee.
