Mercari warns of more losses

Ain't gonna happen in the US. Ebay, Craigslist, and Amazon Marketplace have the used market sewn up pretty tight.

Rakuten is having a rough time there in e-tail, as well, even after purchasing Buy.com.

Does Mercari have losses only due to it trying to expand abroad or also in Japan because their business setup is pretty solid in Japan grabbing a few % for every sale. Im really surprised to hear they are having losses.

They can’t survive. Not in the us and not in Japan. They entered to late and bring nothing new. Just like e-bay failed the first time and will fail again.

key is the ease of payment and use of the platform in general.

I give them 2 years max and they are gone
