This is just an excuse to cut production and raise DRAM and NAND prices.

SK Hynix has enough material to continue producing, but cutting production to raise price is not easy due to possible anti-thrust charges. Abe san gave SK Hynix a perfect excuse to cut production and raise prices.

Furthermore, SK Hynix is scheduled to switch to self-manufactured Hydrogen Fluoride by 4Q this year and is currently testing self-made test samples.

Is that so? Then why did the South Korean Trade Minister meet with US tech groups just on Wednesday about global supply being hurt? Was it just a waste of time and/or a chance to promote anti-Japan sentiment among a few US groups?

South Korean Trade Minister Yoo Myung-hee met U.S. tech industry groups on Wednesday to flag concerns about the potential for the Japanese restrictions to hurt global supply chains, a trade ministry official said.
