commercial hacking for profit?

It hasn't been working in Central Tokyo all afternoon. Which means it is not going to be working anywhere else.

Due to the timing it seems highly suspect, but another reason why im happy not to use their overpriced service. Either way Son must not be having a good day.

Partnering with a Chinese company is fraught with peril. Show me one example where things did not end up horribly wrong. (And not Foxcomm - that's Taiwanese.)

Dysfunctional here in Kansai. My cellphone says “Please wait for a while.”

The arrest of Meng Wanzhou is all very interesting, but I would like to know when service might resume and what went wrong in the first place.

My telephone is not working either. But Internet is okay.

My phone is still only 3G and verybsoerstic at 5:30pm. Luckily, my home WiFi is not effected (yet).

So, are we gonna see discounts and refunds as a result of this? Or, do we just a sorry and get stuffed?

Apologies JT if I am breaking the rules here yet again, but O2 in the UK has been having similar problems. Seems to be worldwide...?

Obviously a hack since it's just before IPO. Seems to be working again now. Walked for the first time in ages without a phone in my hand. Haha. Annoying, but also somewhat liberating.

I remember, when I didn't actually need to constantly be on-line. My parents remembered a time with no TVs, no refrigerators. Yet somehow we all survived. New technology new bills. Are those on-line freinds really your friends? Ore are they exta charges? Disaster is only a net work outage away.

Will visit them tomorrow to ask for partial refund for this month. Much sucking of teeth and "eee-tooo"s expected.

Reckon I’ll be doing the same, but I sincerely doubt if anything will come of it. However, it’s akways good fun to watch them squirm.

The service seems to be to be fully operational again at 9pm.

That was just weird.

It's not weird at all. Someone in a position to profit stood to cash in from a drop in share price.

Hi, softbank, I'm guessing I won't have to call you for a discount on next months bill....right?

Never use a product or service from a company that shares technologies with Huawei.

Softbank have recently started Selling the new iPhone Xr at a discount. Today, a news story came out from forbes that Apple are offering a 300$ rebate on old phone exchange for iPhone Xr replacement - which somewhat up's Softbanks's deal... but naturally wont be available here in Japan.

Sadly I switched (coerced) to Softbank, on the week of this dysmal issue, Futher-more, I have subsequently hit other bugs in iOS 12.1 (some rather Serious) on their newer devices, that Apple are now finally passing onto dev, to fix. It's a bit of a mess. I'm not impressed. Softbank did a wholesale ship the stuff deal with Apple, which is why they can offer the seemingly heavy discounts - whilst Apple were already knowingly planning on doing the same. This clearly came out with earlier stock price crashes for Apple. Apple has a significant problem at present - they know this, and have started cutting back on what was their prime area - support. Now you, can no longer get 24x7 support for your product - if you dont believe me, try it!

Furthermore, and here's the interesting one for Financial Analysts....

if you try to get an appointment to see an apple rep. at one of their stores to attend to an issue that you have, they are, at present, fully booked out, across the whole of Japan!!!!

OK.. that tells me Apple has a problem.

They have cut back support staff - first off - a bad sign of issues coming, especially since Apple touted Support as better than Android.

Secondly, we recently saw an incident of a case where an approved apple developer was able to screw users out of additional funds without their knowing. Something unheard of previously - your App Developer 100$ fee in this case must have been peanuts to them, and what did Apple do for that fee ??? Or did Apple redund people ?

Apple has significant issues to resolve. The apple Store "Genius" tag is a first start to fix this, as the attitudes of Apple staff needs to be fixed towards more Customer focus rather than "Einstein" focus. Likewise shipping defective products needs to be addressed at the retailer level rather than having to push back to your furthest Apple store...

Finally Apple need to get train Support Staff properly. Today I wasted a lot of time simply to be told, after several management escalations, they had no support slots available for the week ahead..... I guess this was down to the sudden influx of complaints locally similar to mine!

In my view, - If you hold Apple Stock, Sell it for the best price you can now.

The reason being.... Apple's Lost it. Their edge over the Competition.

P.S. If you stored you're Bank or Credit Card details on your Apple Account, you may well wish to remove, or invalidate them as a precautionary action.

I saw a long queue of people waiting to use a pay phone on the street. Some TV crew were interviewing them, and they stopped and asked a young lady if she had had any problems using the public phone. She laughed, and admitted that she had never used one in her life before.

Is an apology from Ericsson sufficient ? Or should we put them out of business by claiming compensation for each of our own individual expenses incurred as a result of their poor business practices ? This should, be a test case for ensuring companies take their IT products seriously and ensure proper governance upon them, rather than as I suspect happened, simply firing their prior dev/support team without considering the ramifications...

I guess I should read the small print in Softbanks Service agreement.... I wont be surprised if it has a clause saying it's not liable for expenses incurred due to "glitches" that are beyond it's control.... yet, at the same time, I would really like to see how much it, gets. from Erricson over this issue. ....
