I work with Macs for my business. Flash has updates for security concerns every other month. It is rediculous and a stinking hassle to tell you the truth.

Flash is dead.

It doesn't have a future.

Websurf with javascript (and thus Flash) off, and only when needed, turn on the components that need Flash.

HTML5 is good, but the implementation is still buggy. I've tried using web-browser with no Flash utility at all and forcing websites to use HTML5 (on websites that do use HTML5) for videos like Youtube. Sometimes the videos work; sometimes not - it's still unreliable. So can't completely rely on HTML5 yet.

Doesn't help that many Japanese websites rely too much on Flash and would be absolutely useless unless ya turn Flash on. (And I never liked that ya can't bookmark individual Flash "webpages" like ya can bookmark regular HTML webpages.)

Flash needs to die already. It has no place in the modern web - and neither do its seemingly-daily security updates!

Flash is in the past. Adobe need to move on if they want to stay in business

Flash is in the past.

You're right, but:

Adobe need to move on if they want to stay in business

Adobe is a LOT more than Flash, and they are in zero danger of going out of business. Illustrator and Photoshop are still the industry standard for designers by a long shot.

Strangerland,

Agreed that Adobe is not in danger of going out of business.

However, though Illustrator and Photoshop are used in the industry, a) like beer, you don't buy them you rent them and that adds up to some serious cash if you don't have a company buying it for you and b) there are some serious contenders that are WAY cheaper and WAY easier to use. Affinity Photo, Affinity Designer, Pixelmator, Acorn, Mischief, etc., etc.
