Unfortunately rich Tech CEOs seem in love with AI and can't refrain from stitching it to whatever they can, from phones to internet sites, most of the time the applications are worthless or even make products and services much worse, but since "it is the future" companies keep trying to force users to like it. Environmental damage is just another negative aspect of this kind of use.

You see, it's not AI and very far away from becoming one, otherwise it would already had given proposals to stop own bad environmental effects. lol

The AI bubble may simply start to deflate when companies see lots of extra expenditure and risk, with few savings or benefits. If not, there will be a real market out there for systems that exclude AI (as well as excluding Cloud dependency, subscription models for paying for software and a reliance upon server calls to OS vendors' networks).

Going back to the future for a large chunk of day-to-day computing would reduce energy use and loads of stuff that GAFA force on us, that many of us don't want or need. We just need someone to invest in producing systems with enough compatibility of protocols and file formats to slot in to our existing tech ecosystem. It could be as simple as a PC with a consumer-friendly version of Linux, a standalone works package and a browser.

There is no need for any complicated algorithm to make a proposal for a solution, stop using something that the public don't want and requires wasting a lot of energy.

The problem is that those in charge of making the solutions wants to force the thing into everyone's' life so this obvious solution is not acceptable to them.

Another false alarm.

Another false alarm.

What part of the warnings can you prove is false? trying very hard to ignore what the valid authorities in the field say is not an argument to call the warnings false.
