Alibaba claimed the moves were intended to "unlock shareholder value and foster market competitiveness".

They are anti-monopoly and don’t even need competition laws or an FTC. Smart and visionary.

That’s a good thing - volunteer anti-monopoly law enforcement. The CCP is so efficient. No trials with Chevron Oil, General Electric, American Tobacco, Microsoft, Google and so on.

No, if they want to do it, do it by law and due process

Without due process, it's done on a whim that's always subject to change by the winds - instead of "a nation of laws" as they keep proclaiming

That's not efficient at all since "on a whim" people don't know where the line stands that keeps shifting, so people have to keep figuring out where the line is at any given time. That's a lot of wasted energy and resources, not efficient at all.
