Give private companies a clear regulatory framework so they know the rules of the game going in, keep the regulations stable and encourage private investment. Government ownership of the means of production seldom results in a more efficient outcome.

True, Desert, but the lithium is a resource which belongs to the people, so profits from its extraction should be socialized. If done correctly, funds could be secured for social development well into the future.

I would argue a royalty system feeding a national wealth fund would be a better idea than public ownership.
