Should go Apple, people.

Not that I am completely married to my iPhone, but...

After using an Android for 2 years I was completely irritated by their Wild West approach to apps and OS's depending on the manufacturer. From the outside it appears almost a little too easy to get malicious or unchecked apps onto an unsuspecting Android device

While this is true, I love the freedom my Andriod gives me. The plethora of options, minus the stringent guidelines, and the variety of apps, themes, etc. makes me a happy Andriod user. However, the cons are just as you mentioned and this recent attack exposed. :(

The idea that you don’t have to worry about viruses or malware if you have a Mac is still surprisingly popular. Many people believe that Macs can’t get viruses, and Apple does little to dispel that notion, but is it really true? Can Macs get viruses? “The answer is definitely, yes, “Mac OS X software has more high-risk vulnerabilities than all versions of Windows put together, according to Bitdefender and other AV providers. Apple markets these products as virus-free. They say you don’t need an antivirus, because they know people hate antivirus software. These utilities often slow down your computer, so they don’t want to promote them. Because many people don’t use antivirus software on Macs, it’s difficult to get a handle on the size of the risk. The absence of adoption of antivirus solutions on Mac OS X is hiding the truth, because malware and viruses are not being tracked or reported. How do you know your device is not infected if you do not have a methoid to detect the infection?

The problem is the hardware makers, they just don't update their older phones (6 months) with patches that google releases.

Android phones have colossal fragmentation, so expecting a fix on the OS version is unlikely to ever match the problem. The only thing is for anti virus on smartphones to up their game and not slow units down

Global smartphone market share by OS ; over 80% Android, less than 20% iOS.

Hackers target the largest segment. Mostly in China.

I don't know squat but it seems like installing an antivirus program - I have been using Avast on all platforms for about 6 years - will help you avoid these troubles.

If ya want more freedom, ya have to be more vigilant

But if ya are vigilant, that greater freedom can offer whole new worlds of possibilities ya couldn't do before
