Jones would not say exactly what AOL’s plan is, but one tactic is placing links to top AOL stories inside the inbox.

You mean like how Google have done with Gmail?

I'm suprised that AOL are still going. I remember when Docomo had a contract with them for long e-mails, when Docomo phones could only send/receive upto 500 words. It was free at first then it just died.

Wow after reading this article I logged into my iChat for the first time in many months or years and actually talked to a technically challenged friend of mine in the States who still uses AOL. He's the only person I know that hasn't switched to Skype but he insisted many people still use AOL.

gogogo, right. lol

Hotmail is far ahead of anyone else, still. and facebook's 500 million include loads of people with more than one account...ahem...like me (3) and my cousin(5). and with Facebook's track record of dealing with issues of privacy, i think I'll be keeping my gmail and hotmail and even yahoo accounts active.

AOL made a movie with Tom Hanks, You got mail, right? After those long infomarcial type movies by Tom, I really got sick of those movies and of Tom Hanks.

And I think those facebook email addresses will soon get blocked on most servers as are hotmail, gmail, etc.

Zenny: yep gmail recently blocked facebook from importing contacts for this very reason

gogogo, right. Zuckerberg calls it messaging, but you call it email. he must be wrong and you must be right. after all, you hold more authority than the guy who runs facebook. lol
