Apple deserves to be investigated for unfair practices, operating a Cartel, and subjected to scrutiny from the Anti-Competition board. Also as it concerns the flow of money, they should have the FSA investigating them for money laundering operations, anti-social persons, etc. It's time to come down hard on Apple.

Why does anyone pay $1000 for an iPhone and then let Apple tell them what they can and cannot do with it?

I pity the Steam game players that can not use the Steam app on their Iphone due to apple decision.
I play a lot of games through Steam and use their app on my Android phone. If i was an apple owner i would be annoyed at Apple.
I have thought many times of getting an Iphone and Ipad, but the price puts me off.

Why does anyone pay $1000 for an iPhone and then let Apple tell them what they can and cannot do with it? and this is one of many reasons Ill never buy a Iphone until they make it more open. so much for innovation at ridiculous prices. the number free and affordable apps and software available for Android makes Apple look like a expensive paperweight

I can’t speak for everyone, but Apple isn’t stopping me from doing anything on my phone that I want to be able to do. In the iPhone 4 and 5 generations, I used to jailbreak my iphones, but they introduced all the features I used to use and now there’s no reason to do so.

mmwkdw it appears you have issues...
with Apple, I mean, but nobody is forcing you to buy an iPhone. I did and am having a great time with it compared to my previous one, an android device. I think it was well worth the money I paid for it.

Apple is dreading the rise of Progressive Web Apps (PWA), taking over native apps, since they would lose much control of the App Store
(With PWAs, an App Store is no longer necessary to "install" PWAs - and even when installed thru an App Store, a PWA can be updated on the server side without having to resubmit thru the App Store again; thus an App Store can't block how a PWA is updated)

Hey sourpussy, yes no one forces me to buy an iPhone, I bought the iPhone ages ago, though recent changes make it less attractive to continue holding. Steam is just a small issue - as I dont play games on the iPhone, however the ongoing troubling issue concerns the way that the recent iOS updates DO slow down your iPad and iPhone and there is NO way "Officiall" to go back to the version that worked just fine with your device.

@zichi - you can control an IoT device with your iPhone/Android device to boil an egg.
