Japan's use of Japanese credit cards is quite different than that of other countries, where the consumer determines the number of payments at the time of the transaction. This adds and extra 'step' in a what's supposed to be a one-step simple wave action while your finger is on the home button. By the time you tell the clerk how many months to finance the purchase, you can already reach for the wallet and pull out your credit card and hand it over or insert it for the chip/pin process. Of course this process doesn't apply for non-Japanese credit cards. Good on China to have theirs implemented at the country level.

Old boys' club here will never approve of it. Banking is probably Japan's most archaic & protected market.

I bet the Chinese do.

I care. I've been waiting to use ApplePay since the release of the iPhone 6.
Strange that China gets it before Japan. My guess is that the credit agencies don't want to play ball.
Maybe we'll get it in time for the Olympics when Japan is pretending to be international again. ????

no one really cares I think.
