The government also expressed concern over application developers paying a high fee to Apple as they can only distribute their products through the company's store and called for allowing OS providers to allow users to select the app store of their choice.

Let's see if they can do something substantial about this

The main problem seems to be the monetary issue for the app developers.

Removing preinstalled apps and decertifying the app stores is actually going to hurt end users and especially those that are not very good with gadgets.

Apple downfall in recent years show that they want to get back anyhow by doing some other unnecessary things but not by innovating their products.
