I keep thinking I should update my iPad, which is an iPad 3 which I've used everyday since the beginning of 2013, 6 years. Battery still better than 80% or more than six hours. Now obsolete and stuck on iOS9.

Since moving to the Tatsuno City beach area last December I got myself an iPhone Xr, my first mobile phone for more than ten years. Great phone but still haven't made more than a few calls on it.

The iPad Pro is a nice attraction and if my work required extensive travel then I would go with that one but being just an old guy sitting on the beach probably the basic cheapest iPad 2018 is probably the way to go.

I was never attracted to the mini but that is now a good possibility.

iPad Pro 12.9" ¥107,000

iPad Pro 11" ¥85,000

nw iPad Air 10.5" ¥53,000

iPad 2018 9.7" ¥36,000

new iPad Mini 7.9" ¥44,000.

The new iPad Mini is looking good from here.

We have several Apple products, but I am wondering if Apple will be able to keep up with the recent upgrades to the Samsung phones.

I'm happy with my phone and a mac. I haven't used my ipad for years now. Phone is for perusal of content, mac is for entering it.

I cant lie, I usually check out the ipads when I hit up the Electronics stores out here. the screens look great and there seem to be (never really played with IOS in depth) a few really slick apps and games that google doesn't have yet.

Samsung can't even keep up with Android updates.

Take a look at the number of Apple devices on the current version of the OS vs. outdated versions. Then take a look at the same stats for Android. It's not even comparable.

Who needs a tablet and a phone....when your phone can be a tablet?

I do because many websites are difficult to read on a phone. Typing documents on a tablet are easier for people with big fingers.

Sales may not be so stellar for Apple in the face of all the 5g folding screen phones that the Android crowd is releasing. Who needs a tablet and a phone....when your phone can be a tablet?
