Still not fixed though is it?! They've had months now to sort it out. I've been complaining about it - drop a pin a d there's a place to voice your issues. The train line I on isn't even on the maps. A major train line. The map they're using for my area is at least seven years old. Pathetic. Apple is like all major companies - the mighty dollar is all that matters.

Why didn't Apple test the map application before launching it?

Whoever decided to drop Google maps should be fired, but that might be the CEO.

You can't fire someone who's dead.

Jobs himself ordered google off the phone, and the use of tomtom navigation for the new app was likely his idea too, considering he helped unveil the first tomtom app in 2009 with the release of ios3.0.

Everyone involved in the project, from Jobs and Cook to the middle management guys like this exec should be forced to use the maps to find their next job. They'll probably end up in Berlin, Antarctica, but they deserve it.

The decision to drop Google maps is a sound one. Not having a decent alternative when they did, was not.

Rumor has it that Rich Williamson felt a little "lost" after the sacking. He was "nowhere to be found" for comments.
