You can play the music in 'offline' mode, which essentially downloads the album / playlist into the app itself.

Apple Music is horrendous - and this is coming from an Apple fan. It would have Steve Jobs turning in his grave with that dreadful UI. I lasted 5 mins and then went straight back to Spotify (which also has higher compression at 320kbps).

Getting more iPods in people’s hands would broaden the potential audience for Apple’s new streaming service that went live at the end of June

The same service that is not available in Japan yet? that one? I'm still waiting for spotify and netflix......

It's available in Japan. I'm using it right now.
