BS! Apple is certainly the company which does the most to eradicate this problem that should I remind you is created by nasty Chinese companies that don't give a shit to their workers. Apple can't be behind each worker in China but they do a lot for making sure that this sort of issue doesn't continue. A task made more difficult by a lax Chinese government and a deeply ingrained corruption in the country that makes it easy to hide such practices, even to Apple's labor and environmental audits.

Apple can't be made responsible for everything, and going after it is surely easier as it extracts the press attention.

China is capitalist now. It make a billionaire a month. This is what you expect. The wealth produced by workers is extracted up to an "owner". Mao? Ha ha, don't make me laugh.

Sending in full time (white/western) Apple employees dedicated to just human rights and conditions to every manufacturing location with the authority to report anything not up to spec and taking videos and photos day in and day out with random interviews and questionnaires would make a world of difference and cost little compared to a lawsuit. I'm surprised they don't do this already. Forget random showing ups, but that person needs to stay onsite 24/7 365 and just wander around the halls, workplaces, staff rooms, cafeteria, living areas, etc snapping photos and taking notes... who cares if the person can't speak Chinese....just the existence of that person would make a huge difference...

As daito_hak stated, Apple is doing the most to eradicate the problem, but as they are the richest company it is them who are being targeted. Punish Apple? That would do nothing and probably make things worse. I agree with cwhite that there should be an employee dedicated to looking like an official that can report anything not up to scratch, not just at Apple but at all foreign owned companies in China. It's amazing the effect title, glasses and a clipboard can have.

why should any company be blamed for the conditions at their supplier. That said, what do you expect, if you sell out your own country and keep giving the work to Chinese, this is expected no?. Get a new supplier, spend a bit of money and find one in your own country and stop funding these Chinese.
