Wow, some big gains in performance paired with efficiency gains. A fanless Macbook Air! All at equivalent prices or less.

The downsides? 16GB max memory. This should be fine for the market these devices are aimed at, but a limitation for power users. Less ports on the Mac mini, although, they do get USB-C/Thunderbolt 4.

I want a Mac Mini. The price is nice, too.

Portability is big for me, so I'm looking forward to smaller (11-12") and lighter laptops.

I hadn't heard the announcement but it's been a while since we had non-Intel Macs. It makes me feel nostalgic.

In the photo, note how the Pro has a taller screen than the Air. This is make it far better for working on documents. Widescreen laptops may be nice for Photoshop or watching movies, but are poor for office work.

I use a Surface Laptop myself. I don't think it's 4:3, but it's much taller than most Windows laptops.

while true, a 15" lappy also makes it easy to work on two documents side by side, or browser on left document on right, without needing a magnifying glass to read the text (i struggled trying to do that on a 13" for a couple of years before upgrading to 15")

Macintosh no thanks! I'll stick to using my Red Hat Linux since 2002

Don’t need a laptop with max specs that costs the same as my desktop gaming rig...which I can upgrade and swap parts at any time.

Old devises will not be compatible and as people use computers for business, all files will be accessible through apple backdoors.
