Instead of making our phones smarter, why don't we try to be smarter ourselves? We need more work in that area, I think.

I haven't used Google's or Window's voice assistants, but Siri has become pretty powerful in the past couple of years. I'd say it's got about a 95% success rate in getting what I say, both in English and Japanese. It's much better than it used to be.

The phones are already smarter than most of their users. No need to make them smarter!

Really? I've been an Apple user since well before Steve Jobs died, and I haven't noticed a big change.

They should hire more people to improve Apple Maps - it still sucks compared to the leading maps (directions to wrong address, missing a big 40-min traffic jam up ahead instead of re-routing, etc.)

Siri is hopeless, compared to google's voice recognition software. Voice searching on the web, google gets you there, accurate, intuitive- knows Japanese words and has the power of googles search engine behind it. Siri seldom helps, mishears constantly and "apologizes" all the time. Google wins easily .
what are your rambling about? google play is the "app store"

I've never used Google, so I can't comment on that. But Siri is really good, both in English and Japanese. It's good enough that I send replies through my watch by voice, and only maybe 1/20 times I have to switch to my phone because my watch can't get it right.

I don't know how accurate this article is. My friend who has a Samsung and tries to use Google Play was amazed at how faster and precise Siri is in comparison to GP. Even basic tasks for Siri, as "wake me up at 9am", is not understood by GP as often as it's by Siri. Of course, both need improvements, but Siri is well ahead of the pack. As for Cortana, I haven't seen one single Windows phone out there in the real world.

Apple dies since Steve Jobs die, Apple isn't the same company we knew. Wishing the best find someone equal or equals talented like was Steve.
