For Elon Musk, its ultimate troll and perhaps most prolific user whose buyout of the company is on increasingly shaky ground, Twitter is a “de facto town square” in dire need of a libertarian makeover.

"Libertarianism" is popularly associated with extreme Ayn Randian glorification of wealth and a laissez-faire economy.

Musk described himself as an anarcho-libertarian and his favorite author Iain Banks was an anarcho-libertarian socialist.

As with Twitter there are many subcultures and gradations of political thought.

It is gross oversimplification when the talking point comes in "The libs want to shut down free speech".

So he hasn’t bought it yet.

But all those claiming weeks ago that Twitter was suddenly free and that their posts about the election, trans etc were not censored.

“I’m shadow banned” must be more comforting than “nobody is listening to me or cares what I say”.

Try tweeting about your pets or lunch etc, maybe then some of your family will retweet at least.

On Friday, Musk announced that the deal is “on hold,” while tweeting that he was still “committed” to it. Earlier in the week, the billionaire Tesla CEO said he’d reverse the platform’s ban of President Donald Trump if his purchase goes through.

Seems big on mouth, short on cash, now which of the 2 am I talking about?

Twitter has no soul, that is why it needs to be dismantled. Get the company out of San Franshitsco for starters.

None of my posts that used to be blocked are censored anymore. And I am now see everyone I follow and everything they post.

that is correct.

Explain how Elon Musk did it.

I wonder which is more believable;

Elon Musk did it without actually having any control at all over Twitter yet

You imagined it.

You imagined it.

It's called silent power.

It's called silent power.

He can save himself $44 billion dollars then, Twitter is already free!

Run wild with your conspiracies! Tell the world all your crackpot ideas! If nobody follows or retweets you now you have no excuse!

Musk says he'll buy Twitter and let Trump back on...the MAGA-masses go crazy with their Musk-love and the far-right media can't contain their admiration....

Then Musk says today he doesn't support Trump in 2024....

“Even though I think a less divisive candidate would be better in 2024, I still think Trump should be restored to Twitter,”

And with that, he get's "Penced"...a hero today, scum tomorrow....LOL...

Welcome to MAGA-world...

A toxic cesspool. A lifeline. A finger on the world's pulse. Twitter is all these things and more to its over 229 million users around the world — politicians, journalists, activists, celebrities, weirdos and normies, cat and dog lovers and just about anyone else with an internet connection.

It'll become even more of a cesspool

Look at 2ch, 4chan, 8chan, etc.

Then Musk says today he doesn't support Trump in 2024..

Of course he doesn’t. He’s a leftist. No one thought he did or would.,

doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate his impact on Twitter over the last few weeks. Much better now with more improvements to come.,

Yup!

Then Musk says today he doesn't support Trump in 2024....

He doesn't have to, he just needs to uphold his promise with free speech

“Even though I think a less divisive candidate would be better in 2024, I still think Trump should be restored to Twitter,”

The great thing about freedom of speech is that people can say and think what they want without any social media dictating what is and what is not acceptable free speech

Welcome to MAGA-world...

Thankfully.

They’d be worth 10x more if they didn’t try to virtue signal.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

I actually dont think he will buy it.

But if he does, I sincerely hope its a $44 billion delete button.

Consider it a gift to the world.

He would be doing 8 billiion people a favour, especially America.
