Australia starts building 'momentous' radio telescope

"...........detect a mobile phone........" Amidst the turmoil and angst the world currently survives in, it's good to know that we can dial up Mars.

These big telescope projects and space travel explorations never tell the tax payers that its them who are paying for all these hair brain expeditions !!! LOL. This Australian telescope will cost upwards of $450 million dollars, and NASAs recent escapades cost $24.04 BILLION for fiscal 2022 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can think of a whole lot of things that that money can be spent on a lot closer to home ( Earth ).

Don’t forget to color everything of those another two senseless and much energy consuming places of antenna fields in green paint. That gives a more CO2 free and green DX image to those new and most probably result-free energy monsters.

For example? That $450 million figure is about 0.03% of Australia's GDP and about 1.4% of its military budget. NASA's $24 billion budget is about 0.1% of the USA's GDP and about 3% of the USA's military budget.

It's also possible that this telescope as well as Hubble and the JWST will find solutions to deal with the problems we currently and will face on earth.

The Earth and the Sun will not last forever. The interior of the Earth will gradually cool and as it does the Earth will lose the magnetic field that protects it from the solar wind and retains our atmosphere. But possibly before this can happen the Sun will heat up as it fuses hydrogen into helium changing the proportions of hydrogen and helium inside it, eventually boiling off all of Earth's water and making Earth uninhabitable. Even if Earth doesn't cool internally that fast, eventually the Sun consumes the last of its hydrogen and balloons into a Red Giant, incinerating all four inner planets of our solar system. If mankind is to survive it must become a multi planet species. We must master space travel and the ability to live on other planets. Knowing what is out there using telescopes like this essential to building man's knowledge of the universe that many will someday travel. And, yes, we will master that task. We still have a lot of time to figure it out.
