I'm looking forward to my first ride in an autonomous Johnny Cab. And trying not to get into an argument with the 'driver'.

Hold on... aren't these robo-taxis supposed to make things Cheaper or even Free ? Free why would it be free!? cheaper yes once many are rolled out in large numbers like regular taxis , and most importantly safer than a human driver, criticism them as much as you want autonomous taxis will eventually be safer , cheaper and more abundant than human driven taxis , it only a matter of time.

Attention please! This automation vehicle, will be driven to you destination, payment only by cash, credit or debit card not acceptable. If you don't pay it will be locked from inside and drive to nearest police station. Thank you for your attention.

How are autonomous taxis better than ride sharing taxis like Uber?
Never mind.

Necessary? How so? There are already too many cars on the roads in Tokyo. I'm curious how one would pay a Jonny Cab. Will they only take credit cards? Many people do not have credit cards and Japan does not have a direct debit system for savings accounts. I also foresee a a problem with people doing runners from these cabs.
