Interesting that the ones they chose all compare the tablet to laptops rather than tablets. It's cheaper than the competition and so much better it's confused for a laptop. It's like saying that your prius is a horrible car because it doesn't run like a ferrari. Of course SOME (hardly most, not even 50%) complain about stuff like that, but most reviews are optimistic and rave about how responsive and quick it is, including loading pages twice as fast as all pre-retina iPads and Galaxy products (and still beating the iPad 3/4 by a hefty margin).

It's always a bit weird when people review something and dock it for a characteristic that could change rapidly in just a few months. Definitely gives reviews a shorter shelf life.

The NYT's David Pogue raved about the hardware, but pretty much ripped into the software too--and he's the one writing one of the first third-party manuals for Microsoft 8...

While the base-level 32GB version of the Surface RT tablet from Microsoft sold out online in less than 24 hours after launch last week, as of yesterday all versions of the tablet have been moved into sold-out status.

The back order for the 32GB version without an included keyboard is now up to three weeks, while the 32GB version with keyboard and the 64GB model (which also includes a keyboard) are now on up to a two-week back order according to estimates on Surface.com.

Microsoft is planning to build between three and five million Surface tablets this quarter, on par with the estimates for rival tablets from Google and Amazon. If sales continue to be strong throughout the holiday season, as pre-orders indicate they will be, Apple stands to lose a healthy portion of their dwindling tablet market share even if the iPad Mini is well received by Apple loyalists. Currently, Apple has lost nearly 40% market share in the tablet space within a year to hold only 52% of the market, with Android holding the remaining 48%.

Rather wait for the Intel CPUs. Tablet CPUs like ARM would be underpowered for what it's trying to accomplish, unless ARM develops something more powerful than just to run the iPad.
