I don’t get that one. In such a case it would have been sufficient to buy some knowledge and licensing for producing the chips at other already existing plants, expanding Texas Instruments capacities etc. for example. But with the new plants, managed by Samsung directly, they obviously can keep all their secrets , production methods and patents and that means the vulnerability is still out there as before.

Biden has enough thing to do in America,I do not expect him to do anything, but have stable government in the US,an address present fundamental issues and not be as a political prop by other weak leader's

Hopefully, Yoon Suk Yeol will pass beyond age-old prejudices of South Koreans.
I was once shocked to find that Samsung phones don't have Japanese language support.
Closer to Japan, South Korea will feel far more secure against their Northern neighbour, I think.

It's not.
That's industry standard. No one's asking TSMC and Samsung to diverge their trade secrets to the US to build their US fabs. Heck, not even the Chinese are asking TSMC and Samsung to diverge their trade secrets to build their Chinese fabs.
