Who knew - going to space is risky and difficult. For one, I'm happy they're not willing to risk the lives of the astronauts (even though the risk would be quite small, as it turns out). After all these are just machines and are not worth sacrificing somebody.

This is what happens when you have an engineering company run by accountants! Bean counters are a support service, providing information. They should never be let near decision making. Seen the unfortunate negative effects in so many organisations.

It's pathetic alright but it also shows how slipshod Boeing has been for quite some time. And their heads had better get their kit together!

The US space agency has repeatedly insisted its goal is to have two vehicles to ferry astronauts to and from the ISS, a sort of insurance plan in case one has problems.

I wonder if they thought they would have to use their insurance plan so soon ?
