Sooner or later Japanese carmakers will have to work outside their comfort zone. The struggles of Nokia and Ericsson in the mobile phone business are good lesson for Japanese carmakers.

Rising Oil price will make Electric Car becoming popular among young drivers.

I'll choose Hydrogen Fuel Cell car over Plug-in Electric Car. The Power may not come from complete renewable power source and you can't tell Plug-in Electric car is green car.

@chopchop

Where do you think the hydrogen comes from? Electricity of course.

The Japanese government made a terrible call pushing Toyota and others into hydrogen. Japan may be rich enough to install hydrogen filling stations but the other 7 billion people on earth aren't. Most of them do have electricity and will install solar to charge their cars. Toyota is now scrambling in China to get into EV. They should have been the leaders given their headstart with hybrid. Thanks again Abe.
