iphones DO get slower as you update them to higher iOS version. Apple pretty much admitted to slowing down iPhones 6, 7 and SE models after updates.

And yes, it isn’t unknown for Macs to crash after updates. But in typical apple fanboy fashion they blame the user.

You will have to try one to understand why they are doing very good at their price point. I have Apple, Samsung and Huawei phones - the combination of good processor, RAM and software make Huawei's under-$200 phones: zippy, thin, light, great camera with great battery performance - looks good too.

Apple's mantra has always been for people who don't know much about devices that just work; devices for the least tech-literate people

Mostly it is people who want an iPhone, but they can't afford it.

Well,I changed my Iphone to Huawei when I compared the camera quality of my iphone 5 with my friend's Chinese phone she got 2 years ago. And iphone was embarrassingly worse. So when Iphone got slow-which was done on purpose by the company-I decided not to invest 1000 USD in a phone that will crash soon again, and got Huawei for 1/3 of the price. It's not that I couldn't afford it-I did not want it(even despite being used to ioS by that time).

After my Mac crashed from May software updates and it took them a month to release working updates I decided I am not getting anything from Apple again.

Huawei is everywhere here in Italy. In my opinion, they already won.

Huawei is making money by selling mostly low end market phones in 3rd countries including China and India. Mostly it is people who want an iPhone, but they can't afford it. Apple is selling high end phones at a premium. On paper, it looks impressive, but despite not being a big fan of Apple ecosystem, I do recognize that Apple is on another level. I wouldn't be surprise if they get into other industries like Amazon.

Huawei is doing well like most companies because the Chinese government is backing them. The government sees the potential to spy on their rivals, while smiling in their face.

That's true, but for a normal user that doesn't download all kind of crap it doesn't effect the apps I'm working with at all.

Not unknown but happens not often and I'm not blaming anyone as it's the reality that peeps have limited knowledge in general about the tech they are using. So that goes beyond Apple, panda :)

@ lostrune2

As I used my Lingo app to grab your message yea it’s suppose to work for the illiterate too but it still can cause problems for some :)

Apple makes expensive phones with a feel good message, that is it. As soon as the public wake up (not anytime soon) that other companies sell phones 2 years more advanced than Apple (without the Apple logo) then Apple is in trouble.

Sorry to hurt your fan feelings XD

A Iphone that gets slow and a Mac that crashes after updates sounds more like that you've no clue how to work with those devices :)

Yeah, I definitely have no clue how to make my own software updates for Apple's hardware-so had to use what they offered. And what they offered was crap. Any clues from an experienced guy like yourself?

Apple was THE smartphone company 5-6 years ago, when it did really make sense to pay extra for their product. Now with each year the gap in quality is getting smaller, and if someone is neither really Apple's fan nor is into spending more money than something costs, he has plenty of choice. Now its time of the cheap smartphones.

PS But you can still be proud of your IPhone))

@Mukamo, I guess its really true that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Enjoy your Huawei.

Don't worry, I like the tech site and OS of their devices but not the eco system.

Wonder what you mean with 'my own' software updates and 'what they offer was crap' suppose to be the Genius Bar at an Apple Store?

Guess you're living in Japan and my personal experiences, just for minor hardware items, with an Apple Store and a Soft Bank joint in Tokyo were pretty disappointing as the staff went into the gaijin mode whatever.

Now with each year the gap in quality is getting smaller, and if someone is neither really Apple's fan nor is into spending more money than something costs, he has plenty

It's definitely true that the gap in quality is getting smaller [ at least do you recognise that:)] but for me it's the OS which makes the difference and that certain apps work better on an Iphone than as i've seen with similar apps on a Samsung.

PS But you can still be proud of your IPhone))

Never 'proud' on a hardware device as it's just a tool :)

Take this into context.

Huawei is China's prime example of their business philosophy today, counter acting that which the major companies/corporations in Europe and the US have been doing to the world for almost a Century since the industrial revolution. The major difference being China having more "tools" (technology, infrastructure, etc.), and "labor" (massive population), in a country divided by many cultures and languages but "united" by the Sino-centric philosophy under centralized control of a capitalistic communism (money and power - police and military) with a desire and objective to "dominate" and "control" the entire world.

The rest of the world's corporations and even the governments are "divided" and "self-centered" for personal (individual) gains, power, control, wealth, and well-being with different goals and objectives. China has been competing then surpassing then acquiring competition (monopolizing) indirectly through companies owned by China but retaining local identity.

Following Xi's announcement 6 months ago, Huawei only made it clear that they as with Alibaba vs Amazon have only world dominance in mind. They now have the resources which they acquired from the rest of the world to do just that.

Just what the world needs, more cheap junk tech. There is a reason why Apple and Samsung kick everyone else to the curb!
