What Apple does well is to take something that's already there and improve it. I'm sure they will produce a superior car product.

As for maps, Google was there before Apple, and Apple's first offering was a beta product, but it certainly isn't now. It's far superior. Maybe it's just Okinawa. Google maps has had me in entirely the wrong area several times. So far, Apple maps hasn't failed me. Also Apple maps is easier to use because it just gives the information I need. Google has too much information and the display looks cluttered.

Well, that's my opinion, anyway.

I'be be happy if Apple's next big thing was a better Mac Mini.

When you compete with the best you need to have solid and sharp tools. Restore the tool and then do the job- Confucius words..Steve Jobs was unbelievable so this is Apple ... car to Apple the world is moving forward

The car would have a planned obsolescence every 2 years - old stuff would no longer be supported or you'd need to keep getting new adapters to use it with stuff, heheheh

(and forget about a 10-year powertrain warranty)

I realize it has improved greatly

It was crap when it was first rolled out, but it's excellent now.

but I still find issues whenever I give it a try.

I switch back and forth with the Google Maps app, and I don't see any particular difference.

Say what? Apple Maps are great. I just used them over the past week in a country I'd never been to, and they got me where I was going every time, including with transit directions.

I gave up on their maps after the initial failure.

BUT, given their attempt at map products....I wouldn't trust it to get me to where I need to go!

I love Apple products except for the iPhone, and a self-driving car by Apple would be awesome! Won't break down, will be stylish and comfortable and literally like sitting inside your computer where you can do all your tasks.

BUT, given their attempt at map products....I wouldn't trust it to get me to where I need to go!

You will only be able to use overpriced Apple products on the cars.

Tires will be three times the market price, wear out twice as fast, and cannot be changed without an Apple genius mechanic. Or, you can buy a maintenance plan that costs 80% of a new product.

NO. Self driving Cars are just the modern day streetcar Tram... Nothing really innovative there.

Uber is toast. In a few years, we'll have a choice of Google or Apple apps. (I'll probably go for the former - they'll track all my data, useful in case I disappear.)

Bandwagon.

No.

It will be interesting to see how much battery life you get ;)

If Apple's next product is a car, it'll be stylish, easy to drive but impossible to repair.
