May make sense for this type of disaster prevention. Hopefully that system does not expand into surveillance of its people for political and other freedom depriving purposes. Google and Facebook are already doing too much of that already, depriving the entire world of privacy and personal identity that are essential to freedom and liberty.

And every year it'll get upgraded bit by bit until you've got terminator robots and drones openly patrolling our streets.

According to online dictionary, a robot is a machine resembling a human being and able to replicate certain human movements and functions automatically. The one in the photo is more like a touchscreen computer with a sensor on top and wheels at the bottom.

I think that's more comic book stuff. I had a da Vinci robot operation last February. There are six robot arms which entered my body to make the surgery. The arms are controlled by a highly skilled surgeon and a team of about ten. They are controlled by a console and screen located within the operating theater.

There are thousands of industrial robots used in manufacture, like car lines.
