Dyson shifts up a gear with electric car hub

Well if the car is like their cordless vacuum cleaner, it'll run for about 15 seconds if my wife's forgotten to plug it back in.

This guy is a bit like Elon Musk. But is he really going up against the Chinese, and everyone else?  

And Dysons have never been particularly cheap.

jonathanjo - so the problem is your wife not plugging it in - not the vc.

Same happens with my car now. If I don't put petrol in it, it won't run.

Back on topic, I'd hedge my bets in favour of Dyson's success.

Taking ubiquitous items as the humble vacuum cleaner and fan, and essentially re-inventing the devices, thereby leapfrogging the established giants of industry, certainly shows innovation, endeavour & nouse.

All attributes necessary in the ensuing cut-throat world of EVs.

Is there a standardized charging plug for all current & future electric cars ?
