They failed in 8 months and left with their tail between their legs last time they tried in Japan. They did not understand the local market and tried to force their "know how" onto customers.

I so wish eBay could take on Yahoo Auction and create more competition in the Japan market. Yahoo Auc's seller's fees are ridiculously high.

yes I agree Ebay has been out of the market too long Rakuten and Amazon will continue to dominate the ecommerce sales and Yahoo auctions the online auction sales, just like Rakuten has struggled to gain footholds in other countries and fail in China, Ebay will have similar problems in Japan
Yahoo Auc's seller's fees are ridiculously high.
Ebay fees arent cheap , fees vary from 7~11% depending what type of store you have and where you list you items, that includes the total cost including shipping, these fees have to be passed onto the customer to cover the cost of the items. Many sellers on Ebay make less than what Ebay charges them in fees.

Ebay will never be successful here, as has been proven twice already.
Ebay wants to do things their way and Japan Inc wants to do things their way. Its a fail fail situation.
