Near to a water plane, isn’t it? Both such hybrids are surely niche products only. This one will need even more energy because of permanent friction with seawater. Maybe a very small electrical water plane is better, combining both merits, but anyway, on a global scale that’s all not really worth thinking about or following further. It’s insignificant.

It is a hydrofoil not an airborne. Needs calm waters.

A step in the right direction that can lead to bigger and better steps in the right direction.

Waste of time and money, a fad, though no doubt he gullible will pay and the inventor chap will be laughing all the way to the bank, then go on a long holiday by plane in first class. It’s sods law, mark my words everyone of you.

So far, seems like 150 who can afford the $400,000 price tag will pay. Since you won't be paying as you're obviously not the gullible type, who cares about people who can afford it buying one while the company makes money (shock horror) and progress towards greener nautical travel? Also, how does Sod's Law apply to any of what you said?

Its always the way, it’s another money grab to excite the ill informed into thinking they are doing something for the planet. Similar to the electric car fiasco, they don’t help the environment, but they make charlatans richer by the day.
