People respond to incentives. Pay them when they take something to a recycling centre.

Nothing new then. Just look at those ink jet printers. You buy a new one that comes with the ink is cheaper than buying the ink alone. Next wave will be those batteries from those self proclaimed "green" EV filling up the land fill.

Apple adds to this by encouraging you to buy a new phone every 2 years or so... though apparently they will (?) recycle your old one for you.
