Musk has said he wants Twitter to “ authenticate all humans,” an ambiguous proposal that could be related to his desire to rid the website of automated spam accounts.

Musk should go and testify and try to wow them with his Iain Banks references.

?and here is today's edition of Musk Man Bad. Of course the only possible answer to the UK parliament is "go (

) yourself".

If twitter or any other company wishes to operate and generate profits within the UK or other jurisdiction they have to abide by the laws of the UK or jurisdiction they are in. Being a US company or individual does not put you above the law.

The UK government are planning widespread Chinese-style censorship in their 'online safety bill'. It will make the UK the worst place in the West to develop tech and hammer the UK's digital economy the way Brexit did trade. What they don't ban they will force out of the UK with fines. The committee work upon the basis that everything bad that anyone does online is the fault not of the person doing it, but of the provider of the service they are using. If that had been done a hundred years, we would have no telephones or private cars and all mail would be opened by censors. The whole farce is just a deceitful attempt to 'take back control' of the internet, limit it to within national boundaries, end Web 2.0 and censor all online interaction. Musk should probably ignore it, even if he enjoys the drama. They will like the authentication bit though, as it makes surveillance of citizens easier. They will most likely require it of all internet services available in the UK, and use it to censor adult material. Best options for UK surfers: Short term: VPN; Long term: emigrate.
