Ironic since Musk has betrayed the anarcho-socialist ideals of his professed inspiration, the author of the SF series The Culture Iain Banks.

Musk has repeatedly hinted that OpenAI has had a sandboxed AGI developed internally.
Could be a reason for the lawsuit.

Another example of the "st@ble genius" acting out when he cannot have is way:
More proof that hyp0crites want the right to say and do anything they want without repercussions and think it infringes on their speech if other people use speech to criticize them.
F@r-r¥ght Ideology is purely based on selfishness and only works for the main character. The moment you try to apply their rules to anyone else it falls apart completely.

With collaboration between Figure, Nvidia, Amazon, and Microsoft, it means Elon is not making any money. He has resorted to making dishonest announcements in various fields of research with any tangible evidence. He sees others getting something accomplished and is jealous!
I told everyone that Elon would whine and complain because of all the AI tech news coming out that does not involve him. He will sue all parties for not inviting him to the cool kids table. Especially, he does not like OpenAi because they realized early on that Elon was not as smart as his followers claim. Elon still cannot get over the fact that they partied ways with him and are quite successful because it.
Elon also knows that he will probably need OpenAi's software in the future for his own tech.

Has Elon won a court case yet? Or does he have a success record in the courts like former president Cheeto?

Unfortunately they did not realized this soon enough, Altman frequently supported Musk in the past even when evidence of his flaws was easy to see.

Notice they are more focused on attacking Elon instead of realizing the implications of this technology just being available to a profit-at-any-cost corporate entity like Microsoft.

As opposed to the profit-at-any-cost corporate entity like Tesla?
Maybe the attacks stem from the fact that Elon (the topic of the article) has shown on numerous occasions to be irrational, hypocritical, and self-serving. All qualities that seem to be present in this lawsuit.
I ask one more time:
That in part should evidence how righteous "Sir Elon" is. Or, we can just check out his amoral views on Twitter.

It has been well known that Musk wants to start his own AI company. He failed to get the source code he needed from buying Twitter (failure.)
If OpenAI is open source, then he can build off the work of others and save tons of money by not having to start from scratch. He couldn't care less about the "betterment of humanity."
Elon wants the OpenAi source code which he cannot access to make himself richer!

It's fake news, Musk's litigation against OpenAi started over year ago, according to Musk's biographer. Why now, this OpenAi 'media gambit'?

To have standing to sue in a US court one has to show they suffered a loss and that the remedy they seek will reverse that loss and/or prevent future loss. What loss has Elon Musk suffered from Sam Altman and Open AI pursuing a profit? And does pursuing a profit necessary mean they cannot make life better for humans? I think a judge is going to have a field day with this, much as the judge hearing Elon Musk's lawsuit against Media Matters recently humiliated Musk's lawyers in court a day or two ago.

I think you nailed it.

Elon wants the OpenAi source code which he cannot access to make himself richer!
That is the purpose of open-source and GNU licenses...so people can use it to make themselves rich, not the non-profit open-source organization

Musk is a true defender of equality!
